Aim

This meeting is a continuation of seven workshops held in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004. The aim of the meeting is to present and discuss the latest information in the field of bisphosphonates and to try to come up with innovative perspectives with respect to the mechanisms of action, development of new compounds, new applications, and optimal treatment with already existing bisphosphonates.

Format

The format of the workshop will be similar to previous years. It will start with an

Introductory Course
"Update on Bisphosphonates," held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, between 4 and 8 p.m.

Instructional Lectures

10 Minutes Oral Presentations
Some posters will be chosen for 10 minutes oral presentation. The selection of these presentations this year will be made before the meeting from submitted abstracts as well as ad hoc during the poster sessions. The discussions shall be held in such a way that scientists not entirely familiar with the particular problem will be able to follow the various presentations.

Poster Sessions
New data shall be presented, as previously, during extended Poster Sessions.
