The Awards of the International Bone and Mineral Society are intended to distinguish and encourage research in the field of clinical and basic science of the skeleton and mineral metabolism.
We are now accepting applications for the Gideon & Sevgi Rodan IBMS Fellowship and nominations for the 2009 IBMS Society Awards. See below for a list of society awards and their descriptions. To submit a nomination for 2009, please write a letter addressed to the chair of the IBMS Awards Committee, Henry Kronenberg, and mail it as an e-mail attachment to info@ibmsonline.org by November 30, 2009.
- Gideon & Sevgi Rodan IBMS Fellowship - to honor the service of of two of the bone field's most oustanding scientists, the Rodan Fellowship will be given annually to support the research activities of a deserving young investigator in the bone field. 2009 Brochure | 2009 Application
- IBMS Pieter Gaillard/Elsevier Award - a combination of two of our previous awards, this award recognizes the outstanding contributions, leadership, teaching and dedicated service to the International Bone and Mineral Society and the field of bone and mineral research of an IBMS Member
- IBMS John G. Haddad, Jr. Award - For outstanding contributions by an IBMS member to clinical research in bone and mineral metabolism, that have led to significant changes in understanding of physiology or disease, or to changes in disease management or prevention.
- D. Harold Copp Award - For outstanding achievements by an IBMS member in basic research in the fields of bone and mineral metabolism that have led to significant changes in understanding of physiology or disease.
- Fleisch Award - in honor of the active IBMS Member, the late Herbert Fleisch, this award recognizes the outstanding achievement by an IBMS Member aged 45 years or younger (by December 31 of the year the award is presented) in the field of bone and mineral research.
