The biennial scientific meetings of the International Bone and Mineral Society are among the most exciting international occasions for the exchange of the latest scientific discoveries. They are designed to allow delegates to enhance their knowledge of diseases of the skeleton, basic bone biology, and its correlation to mineral metabolism.

The IBMS meetings traditionally combine a top quality scientific program (that has a basic-clinical balance and is presented in a one-track format) with an attractive host city to create an atmosphere that allows for plenty of interactions among attendees.

Through their simple format, intimate environment, focused presentations and discussions, and plenty of opportunities for one-on-one interactions, attendees can develop a clearer understanding of the interrelationship between basic research and clinical application.

The scientific program is designed to produce an enhanced appreciation of the investigative, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of metabolic bone disorders.

The meeting program traditionally is targeted towards basic/clinical researchers and clinicians in the fields of endocrinology, orthopedics, rheumatology, molecular biology, cell biology, medical oncology, radiology and nuclear medicine, metabolic medicine, medicinal chemistry, dental research, geriatric medicine, and gynecology.

As most meetings, the IBMS meetings feature plenary oral and free oral communications, poster presentations, educational symposia (organized by related organizations and/or the industry) and a technical exhibition of about 30 - 50 exhibitors.

Whenever possible, the IBMS tries to partner with related national or regional societies to take advantage of synergies.
