IBMS prides itself on achieving a high representation and supporting development of Young Investigators within the Society. IBMS works toward this goal in several ways including offering a reduced-cost IBMS Member-in-Training Membership, providing grants and fellowships specifically for Young Investigators, and creating programs which allow Young Investigators to network and meet experts in their fields of interest.

A Young Investigator is an IBMS member that is currently a student, within 10 years of their first postgraduate degree (MD, PhD, DDS, or equivalent) or is a post-doctoral fellow.
